InJanuary 2021, WhatsApp announced in its Privacy Policy that they would use users’ data for Facebook.  WhatsApp also questioned the recent proposed changes to the terms and conditions of its privacy to a parliamentary panel on information technology.

 

  Allowing signals as an alternative to WhatsApp is said to require users to share their data on Facebook and Instagram as part of the new privacy terms.  WhatsApp’s introduction of the new privacy policy has been postponed from its first launch from February 8th to May.

 

  But, in the midst of so much, misleading and untrue information about WhatsApp is being spread on social media platforms.

  How rumors are circulating on social media, such as “New communication rules (voice and video calls) for WhatsApp and WhatsApp calls will be implemented from tomorrow: all calls will be recorded, all call recordings will be saved. WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and  All social media will be monitored. “

  The post further states that the government will now monitor users’ WhatsApp chats.

 Though please note that Whatsapp does collect a substantial amount of user data (metadata).

 Previously other false claims related to Whatsapp’s new privacy terms and conditions.

   

Do not fall for such #Whatsapp messages being circulated.

No such thing is being done by the Government.

 Conclusion

 The claim beginning with “The New Communication Rules for Whatsapp” is false.  Whatsapp does not record users calls nor has it introduced a new ticks system which indicates government surveillance.
