The Prime Minister is returning to the state for the West Bengal election campaign 11 days after the brigade rally. He will hold a public meeting at Bhangra Nabakunj Maidan, 11 km from Purulia town, at 11 am. Trinamool did well in the last assembly elections in Purulia. They occupy 6 out of 9 assembly constituencies in the district. Congress got 2 seats. The BJP has to return empty handed. But in the Lok Sabha vote, that calculation was reversed.
Apart from occupying the Purulia Lok Sabha seat, the BJP is also ahead of the Trinamool Congress in six assembly constituencies under this Lok Sabha constituency. In this situation, Padma Shibir is jumping with all its might to hold the land in the district. Mamata Banerjee held a joint meeting in Purulia last Monday. In two days, the Prime Minister is going to set foot on the soil of this district.
