West Bengal recorded 3,984 new COVID-19 cases and 84 deaths in the past 24 hours on Sunday. Up to 2,497 more people were cured of the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 14,26,710.
The state government West Bengal on Monday announced the extension of the COVID-induced lockdown in the state through July 1 amid an increase in daily infections
However, the state government also relaxed certain restrictions during the lockdown period.
They were allowed to work with 25 percent of the workforce, while private and company offices with 25 percent strength can remain open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
West Bengal recorded 3,984 new COVID-19 cases and 84 deaths in the past 24 hours on Sunday. With new cases, the total number of infections in the state rose to 14,61,257 while the total number of deaths rose to 16,896 as more people succumbed to deadly diseases over the same period.
The number of new cases was 597, followed by 426 in Calcutta. Up to 2,497 more people were cured of the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 14,26,710.
The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state is 97.64 percent, according to the bulletin. There have currently been 17,651 active cases of COVID-19 in West Bengal.
