Mukul Roy, the BJP‘s all-India vice-president and Krishnanagar North MLA, is likely to join the Trinamool camp at the Trinamool Bhaban.

 According to sources, Mukul Roy did not rule out the possibility of going to the Trinamool without saying anything directly on the issue.  

However, sources close to Mukul Roy said that he is less likely to go to the Trinamool Bhaban today.  Perhaps today Mukul’s son Shuvrangshu Roy is leaving the BJP and joining the Trinamool.

 Mukul Roy left the Trinamool in 2016 and joined the BJP.  He then played an important role for the BJP in the state’s panchayat elections and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.  Central leaders also acknowledged that Mukul was one of the key players in the BJP’s 18-seat Lok Sabha polls in the state. 

 But since the Ekushey assembly vote, Mukul’s relationship with the state BJP has been strained.  Instead, Trinamool All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee suddenly appeared at the hospital to see Mukul Roy’s ailing wife.  

Then Dilip Ghosh and Locket Chatterjee rushed to the spot.  According to sources close to Mukul Roy, the rift between Mukul and the state BJP has now widened.  That’s probably why you can go back to the Trinamool once the second in command of the Trinamool camp.
