Last August, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Siddharth Pithani and Cook Neeraj Singh in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death. 

                                                   

NCB Arrest Siddharth Pithani on Sushant Singh Rajput Murder Case

Room mate and friend of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in connection with the narcotics case in which actress Rhea Chakraborthy was previously arrested by the agency. 

The NCB has already filed indictments against 33 defendants in the case, including Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborthy in March.

 The OCN said that despite repeated requests to Pithani to join their investigation and appear before them for questioning, Pithani continued to escape.

 “We sent him notifications, but he refused to show up at the OCN office and kept running away,” an NCB Mumbai later collected information about Pithani’s whereabouts and found that he was in Hyderabad. 

The NCB Mumbai then gathered intelligence about Pithani’s whereabouts and it came to light that he was in Hyderabad. On May 25, a team from NCB, Mumbai, was dispatched to Hyderabad, supported by NCB, Sub Zonal Unit in Hyderabad. 

“Pithani was arrested and his testimony was recorded and he was arrested under sections of the 1985 NDPS Act.

 He was taken to Mumbai by the Hyderabad court that issued his warrant,” the official said.Pithani was brought before a court in Mumbai on Friday and was held by the NCB until June 1.

 Pithani, who was trying to make a career in Bollywood, had stayed with the Rajput last year. The actor spoke before allegedly committing suicide.

 Siddharth Pithani had been questioned multiple times by both Mumbai police and the CBI to clarify the actor’s death after allegations of bad acting emerged. The 34-year-old Rajput was found dead in your Bandra apartment on June 14th. 2020.
