China‘s Hubei Province on Sunday Gas Pipe Explosion local officials said
BEIJING, China – At least 12 people were killed and more than 100 injured when a gas pipe explosion ripped through a residential complex in central China’s Hubei Province on Sunday, local officials said.
Efforts continued, according to a statement from the Shiyan City Disaster Management Bureau, with videos filmed by witnesses and verified by Beijing News showing several buildings being reduced to rubble and rescuers carrying survivors on stretchers.

6: 30 p.m. local time (10:30 p.m. GMT) and an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion is ongoing, the statement said. In China, industrial accidents are common among law enforcement officials due to poor safety standards and corruption.
The explosion comes a day after eight people were killed and three others injured when toxic methyl formate leaked from a chemical plant in southwest Guiyang City.
