At least 88 people were killed in attacks in north western Nigeria
At least 88 people were killed and dozens more injured in gunman attacks in northwestern Nigeria’s state of Kebbi, local police confirmed on Saturday.
The bandits unleashed terror on Thursday in eight different parishes in the Danko-Wasagu parish of the state, Nafi’u Abubakar, spokesman for the state police, told reporters in Birnin.
Kebbi, the state capital. “Initially, 66 bodies were recovered, but as I speak to you now, about 88 were recovered,” Abubakar said. Security agents have been dispatched to the communities to prevent further attacks, he said. In late April, nine police officers and two members of a civil protection group were killed while repelling an attack by armed men in Kebbi.
