The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, welcomed the

         election of a transitional executive authority in Libya, LNA spokesman Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Mismari said.

  In a video speech on Saturday, Mismari congratulated Mubarak, saying “Libya hopes that the activities of the new executive leaders will prepare all the conditions for Libya’s national elections on December 24, 2021.“

    Earlier, the Prime Minister of Libya’s National Accord (GNA), Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj, greeted the election of the Transitional Executive Authority in Libya.

 On Friday, the political forum, the Swiss-hosted Libyan (LPDF), elected an interim unity government that will remain in office until the national general election on December 24.  The LPDF has elected former GNA ambassador to Greece Mohamed Younes Menfi as the new head of the Presidential Council.

  Turkey has welcomed the election of a transitional executive authority in Libya.  Yassin Aktai, an adviser to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, told Sputnik on Saturday that the Turkish military presence in Libya would not affect the election.  (ANI / Sputnik)
