A Taiwanese medical supply business has set a Guinness World Record by building a huge surgical mask measuring 27 feet 3 inches by 15 feet 9 inches. The massive mask, according to GWR, is 50 times larger than a regular face mask.

The Motex Healthcare Corp. debuted its creation on Friday at the Motex Mask Creative House, a company-operated educational tourism attraction in Changhua County. A Guinness World Records inspector from London joined the event via video chat and confirmed the mask, which is 50 times larger than a typical face mask.

According to Motex Healthcare Corp officials, the idea for the record-breaking mask came about in early 2020 as a way to raise awareness of the importance of face masks in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic.
