On social media, a video of Rahul Gandhi with a friend in a raucous nightclub in Nepal’s Kathmandu has gone viral.
According to local reports, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, to attend a friend’s wedding, providing enough ammunition for the BJP to take a direct shot at the Wayanad MP.
Gandhi arrived in Kathmandu on Monday with three pals and is staying at the Marriott Hotel, according to sources.
He’ll be at the wedding of Sumnima Udas, a former CNN correspondent.
Soon after, the BJP began to disseminate a video showing RahuPl Gandhi with a companion in a loud nightclub on social media. “He is in a nightclub at a time when his party is exploding,” the ruling party’s IT cell said of the former Congress chief.
While the video isn’t dated, it’s very probable that it’s from Gandhi’s current trip to Nepal. Manickam Tagore, a Congress MP, retorted to Amit Malviya, saying there is nothing wrong with Gandhi attending an event. He tweeted, “Everyone of us attends private gatherings.”
The Congress, interestingly, blasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a vague allusion to his three-day trip to Germany, Denmark, and France.
“The country is in danger, yet Saheb prefers to stay abroad,” the party tweeted in Hindi.
Gandhi’s buddy Sumnima Udas is getting married today, and the reception is scheduled for May 5, according to sources. Bhim Udas, her father, was the Nepalese Ambassador to Myanmar.
