Officials announced on Monday that Vineet Joshi, an Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Education, has been named Chairman of the CBSE.
Former CBSE Chairman Manoj Ahuja relinquished his position after being recruited as the OSD in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, prompting this event.
“The task has been allocated to Vineet Joshi, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, in addition to his previous assignments, as a result of Manoj Ahuja’s revocation from the post of CBSE chairman,” a senior MoE official said. Joshi, a Manipur cadre IAS officer from the 1992 batch, formerly served as head of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He is also the National Testing Agency’s Director-General (NTA).
