Mithali Raj

Mithali Raj has announced that she will no longer play international cricket.
Mithali has announced her retirement from international cricket in all formats.

As a young child, I started out on a trip to wear the India blues since it is the utmost honour to represent your country.

There were some highs and some lows along the way. Every experience taught me something new, and the last 23 years have been the most rewarding, difficult, and pleasurable of my life.

This voyage, like all others, must come to an end.
Today is the last day of my international cricket career.
Every time I got onto the field, I gave it my all in the hopes of helping India win.

I shall always be grateful for the opportunity to represent the tricolor. I believe this is the best time to end my playing career since the squad is in good hands with some very talented young players, and Indian cricket has a bright future. I’d want to express my gratitude to the BCCI and Shri Jay Shah Sir (Honorary Secretary, BCCI) for all of their support, both as a player and as Captain of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team.

It was a privilege to have led the team for so long. It had a significant impact on my life and, perhaps, on Indian Women’s Cricket as well.

This adventure may have come to an end, but another awaits, as I’d like to continue playing the game I love and contribute to the advancement of women’s cricket in India and around the world. Thank you for all your love and support, especially to my fans.
