IMC New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch 5G services at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi on Saturday. At the same time, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the sixth edition of the Indian Mobile Congress (IMC).
IMC 2022 themed “New Digital Universe; October 1 to 4” is scheduled to be held.
It will bring together thinkers, innovators and government officials with leading entrepreneurs to discuss and showcase the unique benefits arising from the rapid adoption and spread of digital technologies, the PMO said in a statement.

Union Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnab through a speech said that 5G will be launched by October 12.
Top companies participated in the 5G spectrum auction organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT) and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) earlier this year.
In this 5G auction, Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Adani Data Services and Vodafone Idea invited bids for 5G spectrum worth Rs 1,50,173 crore. The highest bidder is Reliance Jio with 58.65 percent of the total price Bharti Airtel was the second highest bidder among the participants with a bid of Rs 43,084 crore.
18,799 crore to acquire 6,228 MHz spectrum in 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz respectively by Vodafone Idea Limited spectrum bid.
The first auction of 5G spectrum in India was held on July 26. Bidding for the auction was conducted over seven days with a total of 40 rounds of bidding.
Earlier in August, the government had issued spectrum allocation letters to telecom service providers to prepare for the rollout of 5G services in the country. Major telecom operators are all set to launch 5G services across the country.
