Ishan Kishan, India’s flamboyant wicketkeeper batter, was allegedly brought to the hospital on Saturday night after being hit in the head injury during the 2nd T20I between India and Sri Lanka at the HPCA in Dharamsala.
Despite the blow, the southpaw kept his ground and proceeded to bat; nonetheless, he failed to score big and was removed for 16 runs off 15 balls.
In addition to Ishan Kishan, Sri Lanka batsman Dinesh Chandimal was transported to the hospital after suffering a thumb injury while fielding in the second T20I.
‘I was assigned to the Indian squad, and I received word that an Indian player had been admitted to the hospital with a head injury.’ He had a CT scan and has been under monitoring,’ according to Dr Shubham, as quoted by ANI.
”Another Sri Lankan player was taken to the hospital after suffering a thumb injury in the second T20I. ‘Right now, we’re keeping an eye on everything,’ he continued.
Meanwhile, India thrashed Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the second T20I, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series, at the picturesque HPCA Stadium, here on Saturday, thanks to explosive knocks from Shreyas Iyer (74 not out off 44), Ravindra Jadeja (45 not out off 18), and Sanju Samson (39 off 25).
India’s victory streak in Twenty20 International cricket now stands at 11 games, dating back to last year’s T20 World Cup.
