The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2022 has been rescheduled by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The engineering entry, which was supposed to start on April 16 and end on April 21, has been rescheduled April 21. The decision was made in response to widespread student protests alleging that board examinations and engineering admission exams are incompatible.
Exams for CBSE 12th term 2 will commence on April 26.
“Representations are being received from candidates requesting that the dates of Session 1 of JEE Main 2022 be changed due to their Board Exam dates clashing with the JEE Main 2022 session 1 dates.” In response to the student community’s continued demand and support, the National Testing Agency has decided to reschedule the dates of JEE Main 2022 session 1,” NTA said in an official notice.
According to the latest notice provided by the NTA, the first session of JEE Main 2022 will be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29, and May 1 and 4. According to the amended schedule, students will be notified of the city in which they will be taking their exams in the first week of April, and the admit card will be available to download in the second week of April.
JEE Main 2022 applications are still being accepted. Students who are interested in applying for the engineering entrance exam can do so till March 31 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must be more cautious this year while filling out the application form, as the NTA will not allow them to alter it. This is only one among a slew of new releases in JEE Main 2022.
Negative marking will be implemented in both section A (MCQ-type questions) and section B of JEE Main 2022. (numerical value). When the numerical portion was first introduced, students were granted 0 points for long-form answers; currently, they will receive negative marks if they answer incorrectly. Students will receive four marks for each correct answer and a minus one for everyone, just like in MCQ.
Meanwhile, according to NTA, JEE Main candidates would have exam centres closer to their homes. According to the National Testing Agency, the choice of exam cities offered to candidates would be based on the permanent and correspondence addresses entered during the online application form for JEE Main 2022. This is one of the safeguards put in place after the JEE Main 2021 exam was tainted by cheating scandles.
