On Saturday, the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Justice Front (JKPJF) held a seminar titled “Eid Nouroz and Kashmiryat” in the Mirgund Pattan area of Jammu and Kashmir, in which a huge number of people attended, in addition to a galaxy of ulemas.
The significance of Navrooz and other religious/cultural festivals was explained in length by Ulems and other scholars.
The participants learned about Kashmir and Kashmiryat from the speakers.
In his presentation, JKPJF Chairman Agha Syed Abbas Rizvi remarked that Novrooz is a significant festival for Shias, much as Mahashivratri is for Kashmiri Pandits and Basant Panchami is for Sikhs.
“Kashmir is the only area in the world where Novrioz and Mahashivratri have been observed since time immemorial, cutting across religious and sectarian divides,” he remarked.
He went on to say that it’s sad that a particular school of thinking has been promoted in the valley since the mid-eighties. There is a concerted effort to smear this religious unity.
Chairman Rizvi also claimed that this lovely paradise known as Kashmir, which had been adorned and ornamented by people of many sects and communities, had been vitiated.
According to Agha, these festivities, which used to be a source of joy and gladness, have become melancholy affairs.
The proponents of this new philosophy, he claimed, murdered Kashmiri Pandits who were well versed and embedded in the fabric of Kashmuriyat. Our neighbors were expelled to Kashmir Valley, while the remainder were forced to flee their homes and livelihoods. The disappearance of kashmiriyat was similar.
While speaking on the occasion, Moulvi Ghulam Hassan stated that an OIC summit will be convened soon in Pakistan, during which the issues of Kashmir and Palestine will be tackled.
However, they never address the subject of Pakistan’s minority Shia and Ahmadi populations, who are massacred by the hundreds every year.
The OIC has never addressed the issue of atrocities committed against Islamic minority in Pakistan, which is an Islamic country.
Hassan claimed that more than sixty Shias were martyred lately during Friday prayers in a mosque in Peshawar.
There cannot be a greater immorality than killing individuals when they are practicing religious prayers, especially when the killers are also Muslims. It’s easy to envision how they would have handled non-believers in Kashmir.
He further noted that since the Taliban took power in Afghanistan with Pakistan’s help, the number of Shias killed has increased.
He stated that the OIC would punish Afghanistan and Pakistan for their crimes against humanity.
More than 25 crore Muslims live in India, according to Moulvi Hassan Saheb, but they are unable to express their views before the OIC Committee.
In his speech, Ajaz Mustfa stated that the front is obligated to revive traditional culture in Kashmir and safeguard its age old tradition of brotherhood and religious harmony to revive peace and tranquility in the region. Revive the kashmiriyat.
