UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar stated on Tuesday that students will now be permitted to study two full-time degree programmes in physical mode at the same university or from separate universities at the same time.
In this context, the University Grants Commission (UGC) would soon provide detailed instructions.
“As announced in the new National Education Policy (NEP), the UGC is developing new standards that will allow a candidate to study two degree programmes in physical mode at the same time, in order to allow students to learn multiple skills.” At a press conference, Kumar stated that the degrees can be obtained from the same or separate universities.
He also mentioned that students will be able to study two degree programmes in the physical and online modes at the same time. PTI
