New Delhi, Aug 26: Ahead of the 5G rollout in India Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that the government is preparing to launch 6G Network services by the end of this decade.
The Prime Minister made the announcement through video conferencing while addressing the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2022.
“Using drone technology, youth can advance new solutions in the agriculture and health sectors. We are gearing up to launch 6G by the end of this decade. Government will promote Indian solutions in gaming and entertainment. Investment, youth should all take advantage, ” said Prime Minister Modi.
The Prime Minister said that new areas and innovative solutions are coming out every day. He spoke about finding solutions to the problems of agricultural innovators. He asked young innovators to take full advantage of initiatives such as optical fiber and 5G rollout in every village and launch and expansion of gaming ecosystem.
India is all set to witness the rollout of 5G technology which the government claims will make 4G affordable and accessible.
Union Minister IT Minister Ashwini said the roll out could be by October this year. “Industry has started engagement for 5G infrastructure in next 2-3 years 5G services will reach every corner of the country. We request industry to make 5G charges affordable. Our mobile service charges are lowest in the world.. -,” he said.
Modi’s 6G announcement gave a further boost to this effort. Vaishnav also said that the very fast rollout of 5G is necessary. Important steps in this regard are proceeding in a very nice and systematic way.
