Indian Presidential Election 2022 News Live Updates: Voting for the next President of India continues on Monday, July 18, as the Monsoon session of Parliament began on the morning of the presidential election. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress chief Sonia Gandhi cast their votes at Parliament House in Delhi.
Several Chief Ministers, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Keriwal, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with Odisha Chief Minister Nanib Patnaik, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin cast their valuable votes, voting in their respective state assemblies.
Earlier on Monday, opposition candidate Yashwant Sinha had urged voters to vote for him to “save democracy” as polls began. There is a tough contest between NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu and Sinha in the election.
The Houses, meanwhile, saw a tough start to the monsoon session, with both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned midday due to price hike protests.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu and her deputy Chauna Men cast their vote in the Nakme Namati Hall of the Legislative Assembly.
BJP MLA Lokam Tasar is yet to exercise his franchise.
“One of India’s most defining moments,” Khandu posted on Twitter. Feeling proud to cast my vote for the 16th presidential election today in the state assembly premises.” Four Congress MLAs, including former chief minister Navam Tuki, also cast their votes.
