Kolkata: The battle between the Trinamool Congress and Subhendu Adhikari is well known in Bengali politics. Almost every day, opposition party leaders lash out at the ruling party. The Ghassful camp is not urging anyone to leave. Meanwhile, curiosity about the meeting between Mamata and Shuvendu grew. On Friday, Subvendu Adhikari visited Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s residence in the Assembly. Mamata is said to have called Shuvendu on this day. He spent three to four minutes in Mamta’s room. Three additional BJP MLAs accompanied him.
Since the morning, the Chief Minister has been in the Legislative Assembly. The opposition moved on a variety of subjects throughout the first half of the session. Mamata also responded to the BJP legislators. BJP MLAs Ashok Lahiri and Shankar Ghosh questioned the government’s participation in health-related concerns. The Chief Minister responded with statistics and facts. On this day, Shuvendu Adhikari also delivered a speech. Following that, it was revealed that the Chief Minister summoned the opposition leader to his own house in the Assembly.
Subhendu Adhikari then went to Mamata’s house. He was not alone, however, as he was joined by three BJP MLAs: Agnimitra Paul, Ashok Lahiri, and Manoj Tigga. They stayed for three to four minutes. This is the first incident in the Legislative Assembly since Shuvendu, a former comrade-in-arms, was elected Leader of the Opposition. What transpired between them is unknown. However, after leaving the Chief Minister’s residence, Subhendu stated that the meeting was merely a formality.
