The Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022, will be held in two phases on December 1 and 5, the Election Commission announced on Thursday. The date of counting of votes is fixed on December 8.
Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar said special observers will be deployed in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat to ensure inclusion of women, elderly, PWD accessibility voters. Inclusion of Hijra citizens is not complete, he said.
1,274 polling stations will be fully manned by women and security personnel for an enhanced voting experience. There will be 182 polling stations welcoming PWD voters.
For the first time, Gujarat Election 2022 polling stations are being numbered at 33 and the stations will be manned by the youngest voters.
