As Operation Ganga, which aims to evacuate Indians stranded in Ukraine, gains up speed, ministers in the Narendra Modi government stay on combat duty.
General Vijay Kumar Singh (retd), Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways, and Civil Aviation, has been overseeing the evacuation procedure from Poland.
The minister used Twitter to share short films during his trip to Poland.
He was seen in one video, together with India’s Ambassador to Poland Nagma Mallick, spending a few light moments with Indian students in Budomierz, near the Poland-Ukraine border.
“It goes without saying that the pupils’ morale is good, and I am impressed by their perseverance. Salute to India!” According to General Singh.

He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to ensure that no Indian is left behind, and he urged the students to stay focused and follow the authorities’ directions.
Since the evacuation began on Friday, 3,352 stranded Indians have been reunited with their families.
Later in the day, General Singh was seen inspecting the plans to fly 208 Indians back to their homeland aboard an Indian Air Force C-17 Globemaster transport plane.
Before exiting the plane to coordinate the next round of evacuations, he had another word for the students before they headed for home.
“, he explained “Soon, you’ll all be with family and friends, and, more importantly, in your own nation. Salute to India!”
