Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas surprised their fans three months ago by announcing the birth of their baby girl via surrogacy.
When it comes to disclosing facts about their first child, the famous couple has been quite selective and private. Fans have been wondering what the couple will name their baby girl since they welcomed her.
According to TMZ, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have given their baby girl the name Malti Marie.
According to a birth certificate obtained by the outlet, their surrogate daughter arrived at a hospital in San Diego, California, shortly after 8 p.m. on January 15.
Malti is of Sanskrit, Indian origin, and means “fragrant flower” or “moonlight,” according to the meaning of their daughter’s name.
In January, the 39-year-old actress and Jonas, 29, shared the wonderful news of their baby’s arrival.
“We are happy to announce that we have welcomed a surrogate baby into our family. We humbly request privacy during this unique time so that we can devote our attention to our family. Thank you a lot, “According to a joint statement released on Instagram,
Chopra announced her wish to have children in an interview with Vanity Fair just a week before their baby girl arrived.
“When it happens, it happens by God’s grace,” the actress stated. “They’re an important element of our aspirations for the future.” In a March 2020 interview, she also stated that family is “very important” to her.
For the uninitiated, the Baywatch actress and the Sucker singer married in India in 2018 over a lavish three-day celebration. The nuptials, which merged traditions from each of their cultures in a “wonderful” way, drew more than 250 of their closest friends and relatives.
Priyanka Chopra told People magazine at the time, “It made my heart melt. It was incredible to be able to have two large weddings in India with our closest family and friends. Finding commonality between our ideas and figuring out how to integrate them in a respectful and meaningful way has been fantastic.”
Priyanka Chopra is now working on a number of projects, including the Amazon Prime series Citadel and the romance drama Text For You, and the Bollywood film Jee Le Zaraa.
