22 April, Kiev The Ukrainian Parliament agreed on Thursday to extend the country’s martial law for another 30 days, until May 25, according to member Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
According to Zheleznyak’s Telegram announcement, 300 lawmakers in the 450-seat parliament supported the president’s motion to extend martial law.
In the aftermath of the confrontation with Russia, Ukraine declared martial law on February 24.
The Ukrainian parliament voted on March 15 to prolong the special regime until April 25.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine submitted a bill to the Ukrainian Parliament on April 19 to extend martial law in the country.
