A deadly Maoist attack in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh has claimed the lives of 10 District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel and a civilian driver. The attack took place near Aranpur, around 450 km from the state capital Raipur.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel expressed his condolences over the tragic incident, stating that the Naxals responsible for the attack would not be spared. He also confirmed that the DRG personnel were in the area for an anti-Naxal operation.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with CM Baghel and offered all possible assistance in dealing with the situation.

IG Bastar, P Sundarraj, confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were being evacuated and a search operation was underway. The attack has sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters, with many expressing their solidarity with the families of the victims.

The incident highlights the ongoing conflict between Naxalites and security forces in the region, which has claimed many lives over the years. The government has been making efforts to address the issue, but attacks like this one underscore the challenges that still remain.
