In a historic achievement, the Indian cricket team has climbed to the top of the ICC Test Rankings and became the second team, after South Africa, to be ranked number one in all formats of the game. Led by Rohit Sharma, the Indian team has now achieved the top billing in Tests, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 Internationals (T20Is).
India’s rise to the top of the rankings comes after their recent dominant victory over Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue dethroned Australia from the top spot with 115 points, while the Pat Cummins-led team has 111 points.
In ODIs, India has 114 rating points, two more than second-ranked Australia, while in T20Is, Hardik Pandya’s team has 267 rating points, one more than England, who are second.
