Cold winds and rain swept delhi, Gurugram

Cold winds and rain hit Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram over the weekend as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the national capital would experience a few light to moderate spells of showers.

Despite the weather, the Beating Retreat ceremony was held in Delhi as scheduled, with Indian classical tunes played by the armed forces bands filling the air. In Rajasthan, hailstorms damaged crops in Udaipur.

The weather department has predicted more rain in store for Delhi-NCR, with light to moderate-intensity rainfall expected over parts of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana.

Temperatures in Delhi are expected to rise to between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius on Monday. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Monday in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir, with light rain expected in coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and southern parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
